A Test Run for Kilimanjaro

It’s been a wild few days since arriving in Iceland.I slept in a tent and cooked food using a JetBoil pot, slept in, woke up early. Stayed up late and went to bed at sunset. I went on a whale expedition, saw loads of sheep, horses, and goats. No reindeer yet. And visited a granite bird egg exhibit. I got my car stuck in gravel, skirted the embankment and got pulled out by four South Koreans. I drove 30km on gravel and rocky road, over a mountain and through black sand and old lava fields - 100% recommend if you can stand the terror. I hiked nearly 25 miles — in rain, behind waterfalls, through geothermal and lava fields, and into gorges and canyons. Kilimanjaro is still 10 months away but training has begun.
