You’re leaving when?!

If you're just joining: this series documents the process of designing a 90-day place-based inquiry in West Africa, in real time. Start with the first post to follow from the beginning.

I opened the calendar and saw that November was warm and dry. But then I started thinking about Christmas and not sharing it with my kids. I fought for Christmas with the kids when I got divorced. It was a dealbreaker. I didn’t want to change those rules. Then I calculated what six extra weeks of salary would get me. I looked at my planning document and pushed the date to December 28.

Instead of waiting for a perfect date, I chose the one that made sense for me.
